Choo choo

Sounds of silents. Time Out Chicago, Feb. 28 - Mar 5. My first story idea for Time Out was to find out a little more about this peculiar fellow Dennis James, who makes his living presenting and restoring silent films. He's one-of-a-kind and he's coming to Symphony Center this Friday night for a collaboration with the CSO in Buster Keaton's The General. It was gratifying to merge my love of old films and classical music into a debut article. And muchos props to editor Antonia Simigis for devising that clever Garfunkelian header.

Bryant, very interesting article. I'm not much of a Buster Keaton buff (although he did spend many summers in Muskegon, Michigan, where they still celebrate his patronage), but isn't the "The General" about a steam locomotive during the Civil War that Keaton somehow takes over for some purpose? In any event, I would love to get to Chicago to view this. By the way, if you know much about Buster Keaton, I remember seeing a clip of one of his films where he was running down a hill being pursued by a number of large boulders. I recall it was hilarious, and always wondered what film it was. Any guidance would be appreciated.
