"Put the music on TV, and see what happens"*

In light of all the thoughtful posts musing on classical music's relevance (like here and here), I'll bring to your attention the ever-growing TV network Ovation.  I think this is a small step for cable television and just might harken back to days when a live performance had prime-time TV appeal (or, as Geelhoed states, "the prestige in the mass media it had in the 1950s").  More of the story can be read here.
