Nixon's warhorse

I like how at the 1:40 mark (counting up, 1:12 down) the former president slowly pulverizes out a 2-note theme in repeated, unvaried succession.  Surprisingly his left hand appears much more comfortable in the agile arpeggios than his right does in the stationary melody.  And if the harlequin novel stringwork (1:35 - 1:38) (1:16 - 1:13, counting down) doesn't make you laugh a little, then consider hitting "replay."

Comments

The host's comments regarding the non-sneakiness of Mrs Nixon's recording methods were most amusing. I thought he was making fun of Nixon until I realised the show was taped a decade too early for that.
