Rude awakening
***Week 5 playlist added.
Tonight's program was a step back. After the show, Gerry and I, for the first time, got a chance to hear what we sounded like. Bad. Really bad. Hundreds of "ums" and too much babbling. I'm sure many of you can gather that what we do is off the cuff, which leaves for very unpolished dialogue. The improvisational quality is nice, but we need to sharpen it. We've also learned that fading out the end of the piece is preferable to just abruptly turning the disc off as we have been doing. Gerry tried learning all the tech and equipment tonight, so that included a slew of mistakes. And then of course I need to work on that squirmy, nasally voice. Our coda sounded like an amateur pledge drive. But what's really embarrassing is that the station manager informed us we had a rather sizeable group of listeners tonight; encouraging, but too bad we weren't in top form. It will get better though. If this is a baseball season, we're only in spring training.

I'd rather listen to a stumbly DJ than a professional any day.
I'm so ashamed I missed your show again Bryant. I'm about the worst at remembering schedules but I'm setting the alarm for the next one.
Keep up the good work!

oh, I just noticed you didn't have a show last week. Don't I look quite the fool. :)

On second thought, forget that last post. I need my mid-afternoon coffee.

I really like it, both of you. I understand you want to work on the polish, but you're both so obviously into it that it is very enjoyable.
And great selection.

Thanks fellas. I particularly liked the Berlioz vocal piece Gerry played, which didn't grate on my ears.
